Zephyrinus, an anchorite monk, was cured of the nervous shakes after prayer to Saint Fidgeta, leading to her canonization in the year 490 (Saint Fidgeta and Other Parodies; 12).

Inspiration

The monk is possibly named after Pope Saint Zephyrinus (c.199-217)[1], whose name is a diminutive of Zephyr, the name given in Greek mythology to the west wind[2].

Anchoritic life denotes someone who, for religious reasons, withdraws from secular society to lead a solitary and prayer-filed life[3].
