Spumanti was a location in Italy, presumably near Rome, where Pope Spatulus III had a villa and where he built a house of rock candy; mistresses were taken there for "unspeakable rites" (Saint Fidgeta and Other Parodies, 52).

Spumante is an Italian term for sparkling wine[1].
