Romania is a sovereign state located at the crossroads of Southeastern and Eastern Europe and borders the Black Sea, Bulgaria, Ukraine, Hungary, Serbia, and Moldova. In English, the name of the country was formerly spelt Rumania or Roumania. Romania became the predominant spelling around 1975[1].
