The Litany for a Happy Death is a prayer that is suggested nuns make students memorize, found on page 1017 of the Breviarum Defunctorum - according to the Handbook for Grade School Nuns (Saint Fidgeta and Other Parodies, 108).
Inspiration[]
Fictional, of course, though Bowen feels if there was such a thing, "the contents must be quite different from the hilariously scary version John offers. The humor here is closely related to some of the bits in the Litany of Saint Fidgeta.[1]"
