Izaak Walton is an English writer and "the world’s most famous fisherman" whose biography Lewis Barnavelt finds in cousin Pelham Barnavelt's library (The Vengeance of the Witch-Finder, 127).

Izaak Walton was an English writer, remembered for The Compleat Angler (1653) that celebrated the art and spirit of fishing in prose and verse. The last forty years of his long life seem to have been spent in ideal leisure and occupation with those who enjoyed fishing (as well as compiling a number of short biographies of fellow anglers). His name was evoked in 1922 by the Izaak Walton League, one of the United States’ oldest and most respected conservation organizations[1][2].

The Compleat Angler supposedly inspired the name of the documentary The Compleat Beatles[3], the latter of which inspired the name of the author fan site The Compleat Bellairs[4], which this wiki is named after. Thanks, Izaak!
