Sister M. Fiorello is an instructor of Political Science at Saint Gertrude-by-the-Tarn. She asks the Question Box Moderator about using Marx's Communist Manifesto in her coursework, and what to do when the local bishop does not give her Index permission (Saint Fidgeta and Other Parodies, 45).

Inspiration[]

Fiorello: Italian meaning "little flower.[1]" It is best remembered as the name of New York City's famous mayor, Fiorello H. La Guardia (1882–1947)[2].  In the interest of gender, however, the -o ending makes the name sound masculine.

While she only offers the initial of her first name to the moderator, it's more than likely her name is Mary.
