The Catholic Worker is a publication which the son of I. H. Samsonite subscribes to; it arrives at the home "without even a plain brown wrapper" (Saint Fidgeta and Other Parodies, 49).
Inspiration[]
The Catholic Worker is a newspaper published by the Catholic Worker Movement community in New York City. The newspaper was started by Peter Maurin and Dorothy Day - the latter who was a convert to Catholicism and was still alive at the time Saint Fidgeta was published. The newspaper was to make people aware of church teaching on social justice[1].
“Their philosophy was pacifist, left-wing anarchist, and Catholic all at the same time.[2]”
